Transmedia & SmartphonesTask One in this section is to research and create a visual timeline of the advent and evolution of the smart phone. Be as visually interesting and creative as you like with this. You may even research New Media-type ways of presenting this information in a more stimulating way. These may include: mind maps, prezi, Flash, video, or anything else of your own choosing.
Task Two is to research a really successful/engaging example of Transmedia and present your findings/explanations about your chosen example in the form of a vlog. This vlog may include editing, backing sounds/music, clips from the chosen example of transmedia, etc. It's entirely up to you...just don't be boring! Questions you may like to ponder with regards to your transmedia example include: What made this example stand out? Why was it successful? What technologies/ideas did it incorporate in order to reach its audience? There are many more questions to consider but these should get you started. Examples of transmedia you may wish to explore include, but aren't limited to if you have better ideas: Dexter: https://ibcomtransmedia2012.wordpress.com/2012/09/18/dexter-get-the-full-experience/ Heroes: https://vimeo.com/8700233 LEGO: http://www.awn.com/animationworld/how-transmedia-made-lego-most-powerful-brand-world The Blair Witch Project: http://www.transmedialab.org/en/the-blog-en/case-study-en/the-blair-witch-project-a-transmedia-reference/ Hive Propolis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hive_Propolis |
